Empowering cultural workers in Palestine, for a brighter future.

Supporting cultural resilience.

Palestine is culturally-rich, preserving ancient traditions and heritage, while simultaneously innovating. From indigenous cultural expression like poetry and tatreez, to newer art forms like video and 3D printing, Palestine’s cultural workers lead via resilience in the face of cultural erasure, healing trauma, and advocating on behalf of their communities.

The Cultural Fund will be a US-based 501(c)3, and is currently in the process of forming. TCF will specifically support cultural workers in Gaza and the West Bank creating extraordinary art and exceptional, innovative cultural work.

The Cultural Fund will serve cultural workers advocating for justice and freedom, as well as addressing trauma.

Exceptional individual cultural innovators leading this work - these are the people who are falling between the cracks, and who we will support with mentors, tools, technology, publicity, and the financial support they need to focus on their work.”

Who we’ll serve

Musicians, composers, producers, rappers, DJs, actors, comedians, physical performers, dancers, acrobats, visual artists, designers, sculptors, puppeteers, photographers, fashion workers, textile artists, needlecrafters, jewelers, metalsmiths, poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, journalists, archivists, librarians - exceptional Palestinian cultural workers working in every medium - including emerging and established cultural workers whose work has the power to demand attention from both local and international audiences.

What we’ll do

We will support Palestine’s most exceptional cultural workers to create powerfully engaging, robust, highly unique, and successful projects. We will create bespoke incubator programs to address the unique needs of cultural workers serving their communities. From training in the latest technology, to new and emerging ways to reach global audiences, The Cultural Fund will uniquely support the cream of Palestine’s cultural community to create the most exceptional, far-reaching work.

Why we’ll do it

There’s a unique space in Palestine for a nonprofit foundation for leading cultural innovators - individuals who usually work in community cultural organizations as performers or educators, but whose own individual work is currently not able to be supported directly. Exceptional individual cultural workers are falling into this funding gap - TCF will provide access, tools, and resources to both emerging artists, and established artists, so they can make exceptional work at this time, and facilitate enriching cultural exchanges, even with the restrictions on movement that are imposed on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
